Disease relevance of PUJO

  • The association of pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) and rapidly fatal persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) has been observed in two male siblings [1].
  • PUJO was also observed in a maternal uncle, whose daughter suffered from vesico-ureteral reflux (VUR) [1].
  • OBJECTIVE: To determine the incidence and efficacy of treatment for pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO, the most common cause of hydronephrosis in the fetal kidney) in duplicated systems [2].
  • PATIENTS AND METHODS: From November 2002 to April 2005, 55 patients had RALP for PUJO; eight of these had concomitant renal calculi [3].
  • This late presentation of lower moiety PUJO with pyonephrosis has not been described previously [4].

Biological context of PUJO

Anatomical context of PUJO

Associations of PUJO with chemical compounds

Other interactions of PUJO

  • CONCLUSIONS: TGF-beta1 expression was increased and EGF expression was decreased in the renal tissue after clinical PUJO [19].
  • OBJECTIVES: To study the potential role of pelviureteral junction obstruction (PUJO) in causing progressive renal damage in children through the renal expression of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) [19].
  • Pelviureteric junction obstruction secondary to renal pelvic incarceration in a congenital diaphragmatic hernia [20].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of PUJO

  • OBJECTIVE: To analyse the long-term success of retrograde balloon dilatation (RBD) of pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) [21].
  • OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the role of multiphasic helical computed tomography (CT) in planning surgical treatment for pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) [22].
  • A retrospective study was carried out by evaluation of the records of patients who underwent A-H pyeloplasty for unilateral PUJO and reported for a follow up renal dynamic scan between the years 2000 and 2003 [23].
  • Standard intravenous pyelography showed an increase in pelvis size compatible with PUO in 2 patients from group 2 and in all patients from group 3.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)[24]
  • Re: Low grade pelviureteric junction obstruction with normal diuretic renography [25].
