Associations of Syt3 with chemical compounds

  • We demonstrate that rat basophilic leukemia (RBL-2H3) mast cells endogenously express Syt III, and >70% of this protein colocalizes with early endosomal markers, such as EEA1, annexin II and syntaxin 7, and the remaining protein colocalizes with secretory granule (SG) markers such as beta-hexosaminidase, histamine and serotonin [10].
  • All the ferlins are characterized by sequences corresponding to multiple C2 domains that share the highest level of homology with the C2A domain of rat synaptotagmin III [11].
  • We found that the frequency of 5-HT-induced spontaneous EPSCs was fully supported by Sr2+ in the absence of added Ca2+, implicating the mechanism of asynchronous transmitter release which has been linked to the high-affinity Ca2+-sensor synaptotagmin III [12].
