  • Among the components of this complex, only the IL-2 receptor alpha subunit was stained with Galanthus nivalis agglutinin which specifically recognizes high-mannose type glycans [5].

  • GNA, the mannose-specific lectin from Galanthus nivalis was confirmed to bind alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) but another protein was copurified with A2M from total human plasma [18].
  • The positive reaction of N-cadherin from the WM35 cell line with Galanthus nivalis agglutinin (GNA), Datura stramonium agglutinin (DSA) and Sambucus nigra agglutinin (SNA) indicated the presence of high-mannose type glycans and biantennary complex type oligosaccharides with alpha2-6 linked sialic acid [19].
  • Consistent with this observation, bacterial binding was enhanced in vaginal epithelial cultures that were induced to differentiate, and this enhanced bacterial binding was associated with increased K13 expression levels and increased binding of the mannose-specific lectin Galanthus nivalis agglutinin [20].
