Disease relevance of C1s

High impact information on C1s

Chemical compound and disease context of C1s

Biological context of C1s

  • The deduced amino acid sequence of r-gsp was homologous to those of complement C1s precursors of hamsters and humans [1].
  • The biophysical properties of the truncated MASPs indicate that the interactions with MBP leading to complement activation differ significantly from those between components C1q, C1r, and C1s of the classical pathway [9].
  • Biochemical characterization and tissue distribution of hamster complement C1s [10].
  • After neutralization of the PKA activity in the PPF with C1-esterase inhibitor, neither a rise in BK level nor a fall in blood pressure was observed on infusion [11].

Anatomical context of C1s

Associations of C1s with chemical compounds

  • It encodes a protein of 694 amino acids containing a potential signal peptide, an epidermal growth factor-like domain surrounded by two complement C1r/C1s-related repeats, and a putative trypsin-type serine protease domain [12].
  • Using C1 reconstituted from purified C1q, C1r, and C1s, it was shown that Abeta1-42 fibrils trigger direct C1 activation both in the absence of C1 inhibitor and at C1 inhibitor:C1 ratios up to 8:0, i.e., under conditions consistent with the physiological context in serum [15].
  • The biological half-life of melatonin at mid-light and mid-dark were similar but the volume of distribution (V beta and Vc) and metabolic clearance rate (C1s) were greater at mid-dark than at mid-light [16].
  • In contrast, interferon-alpha and dexamethasone did not alter C1-esterase inhibitor gene expression [8].
