Disease relevance of HIST1H1A

  • We describe a middle class Sicilian girl who at 8 months of age suffered acute post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis documented by clinical hist a positive type 12 beta-haemolytic streptococcus throat culture, a raised anti-sterptolysin O titre and a low C3 rising to normal after 8 weeks[1]
  • This can be attributed to a large extent to the development by Dr Freedman and hist colleagues at Yale of reproducible, simple, inexpensive animal model of infective endocarditis [2].
  • The presence of Campylobacter pylori was investigated in duodenal, antral and fundic biopsies of 149 consecutive patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal tract endoscopy by biopsy urease tests (CLOtest; "CLO test") and histologic examination ("HIST") after modified Giemsa staining [3].

High impact information on HIST1H1A

  • Clonal vertical transmission of fungi, previously shown to be common in the genus Microtermes (via females) and in the species Macrotermes bellicosus (via males) [Johnson, R. A., Thomas, R. J., Wood, T. G. & Swift, M. J. (1981) J. Nat. Hist. 15, 751-756], is derived with two independent origins [4].
  • CD34+ cells from patients with the del(5q) had a distinct gene expression profile, characterized by down-regulation of genes assigned to 5q, and up-regulation of the histone HIST1 gene cluster at chromosome 6p21 and of genes related to the actin cytoskeleton [5].
  • We report that BAF binds directly and selectively to linker histone H1.1 (among three subtypes tested) and core histone H3 with affinities of approximately 700 nm and approximately 100-200 nm, respectively, in vitro and in vivo [6].
  • Histones H1.5 and H1.1 were the subtypes most frequently recognized by the human autoantibodies [7].
  • Part of hist difficulty lay in the absence of any automatic reflex correction in his voluntary movements, and also to an inability to sustain constant levels of muscle contraction without visual feedback over periods of more than one or two seconds [8].

Biological context of HIST1H1A

  • We have confirmed the localization of histone H1.1 to chromosome 6 and have regionally assigned the locus to 6p21.3 by radioactive in situ hybridization [9].
  • In conclusion, since the vagal mechanisms seem to be the predominant system mediating HIST-induced bronchoconstriction in normal subjects, it is possible with DRSAEFV to evaluate the efficacy of anticholinergics against HIST-induced bronchoconstriction in these subjects [10].
  • Singh's "Regulation of Human Sexual Behavior, Sex Revolution and Emergence of AIDS: A Historical Perspective," Bull. Ind. Inst. Hist. Med. (1997), by clarifying why medicine is ignored despite unprecedented pathogenic norms of Western society [11].

Anatomical context of HIST1H1A

  • Transcripts hybridizing with the human H1.1 gene could not be detected in testis of mouse, rat, bull or boar [9].
  • Furthermore in situ hybridization on tissue sections revealed a cell type specific expression of histone H1.1 gene in the Hassall's corpuscles of the thymus [12].
  • The classical studies by Del Rio Hortega (Mem. Real. Soc. Espan. Hist. Nat. 14:40-122, 1928) suggest that the oligodendrocyte population includes four morphological subtypes [13].
  • The patient, 3 year 3 month old boy, had sustained an external injury which had caused the crowns of hist bilateral deciduous central incisors to fall out when he was 12 months old [14].
  • Positive results were obtained rarely in the duodenum (4.7% and 12.8% by CLO test and HIST, respectively), but equally frequently in antral (48.3% and 62.4%) and fundic biopsies (55.0% and 54.4%) [3].

Associations of HIST1H1A with chemical compounds

  • RESULTS: TR improved their HIST performance (m) significantly compared with CN, identified by a significant "group-by-training" interaction (p<0.01) [15].
  • Acrodermatisis enteropathical has had a remarkable hist orical course beginning only 35 years ago, first passing through a period of empiric management with the 8-hydroxyquinoline drugs and culminating with the discovery of a biochemical effect in zinc absorption [16].
  • BACKGROUND: Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis L) is a multi-purpose herb (Hobbs, 1990: Pharm Hist 32:79-82) widely used for its antibiotic properties [17].
  • Protein A-Sepharose affinity chromatography (ACR) and 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) treatment showed positive results in the half of samples which had been positive in the HIST [18].
  • Medical geography in historical perspective. [Review of: Rupke, N.A., ed. Medical geography in historical perspective. London: Wellcome Inst. for the Hist. of Medicine, 2000] [19].

Other interactions of HIST1H1A

  • The expression of a human histone H1 isoform (H1.1) was studied in several human tissues [9].
  • Binding of barrier to autointegration factor (BAF) to histone H3 and selected linker histones including H1.1 [6].
