  • To this end we used the polymerase chain reaction to amplify DNA from paraffin-embedded thyroid tissue blocks of histologically proven Hashimoto's disease [15].
  • The functional integrity of the purified antibodies was established with cytoplasmic islet cell antibodies from the sera of patients with type I diabetes and autoantibodies against thyroid peroxidase from patients with Graves' and Hashimoto's disease [16].
  • Very occasional centroblasts in reactive germinal centres were positive for p53, but all other lymphoid cells from cases of Hashimoto's disease were negative for p53 [17].
