Disease relevance of INTS6

  • When compared to normal lung tissue expression of the DICE1 mRNA was reduced or undetectable in the majority of non-small cell lung carcinomas analysed [1].
  • Isolation of DICE1: a gene frequently affected by LOH and downregulated in lung carcinomas [1].
  • Hypermethylation of CpG sites of the DICE1 promoter was observed in four of eight analysed prostate cancers [2].
  • Analysis of the REA patterns generated by PFGE after digestion with XbaI and SpeI indicated that the S. typhi isolates obtained from sporadic cases of infection were much more heterogeneous (at least 13 different REA patterns were detected; Dice coefficient, between 0.73 and 1.0) than those obtained during outbreaks of typhoid fever [3].
  • Another 81 strains isolated between 1997 and 1999 have shown divergence, with four new phage types, UVS I (n = 63), UVS (n = 5), VNS (n = 4), and D1 (n = 9), and more genetic variability as evidenced by the multiple and new PFGE XbaI profiles (21 profiles; Dice coefficient, F = 0.71 to 0.97) [4].

Psychiatry related information on INTS6

  • Neuropsychological performance was assessed with the Iowa Gambling Task (decisions under ambiguity), the Game of Dice Task (decisions under risk), and an extensive neuropsychological test battery focussing on executive functions [5].
  • The authors developed a new gambling task, the Game of Dice Task, with explicit and stable rules for reinforcement and punishment, to investigate relations between executive functions and risk-taking behavior in an explicit decision-making situation [6].
  • However, previous studies with other clinical populations found relations between executive (dorsolateral prefrontal) functions and decision-making using a task with explicit rules for gains and losses, the Game of Dice Task [7].
  • We found that PD patients were impaired in the Game of Dice task performance and that the frequency of disadvantageous choices correlated with both executive functions and feedback processing [8].
  • GAL-INT-6 reported sub-group data for a pure population of vascular dementia patients showing no significant differences in Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-cognitive subscale (ADAS-cog/11) and Clinician's Interview-based Impression of Change (CIBIC-plus) when galantamine was compared against placebo [9].

High impact information on INTS6

  • DICE1 (deleted in cancer 1), first identified in human lung carcinoma cell lines, is a candidate tumor suppressor, but the details of its activity remain largely unknown [10].
  • Deleted in cancer 1 (DICE1) is an essential protein controlling the topology of the inner mitochondrial membrane in C. elegans [10].
  • Protein homeostasis: a degrading role for Int6/eIF3e [11].
  • This interface is quite specific as a single amino acid difference annuls the ability of a G alpha(i) peptide to bind the A(1) adenosine receptor (Gilchrist, A., Mazzoni, M., Dineen, B., Dice, A., Linden, J., Dunwiddie, T., and Hamm, H. E. (1998 ) J. Biol. Chem. 273, 14912--14919) [12].
  • HDB is considerably less sensitive to trichostatin A [13].

Chemical compound and disease context of INTS6

Biological context of INTS6

Anatomical context of INTS6

  • Absence of mutations in DICE1/DDX26 gene in human cancer cell lines with frequent 13q14 deletions [18].
  • Previous studies have shown that microinjected ribonuclease A is degraded to single amino acids entirely within lysosomes (McElligott, M. A., Miao, P., and Dice, J. F. (1985) J. Biol. Chem. 260, 11986-11993) [19].
  • Lesions in the basal forebrain reduce or eliminate CAT and AChE activity in the MOB in direct relationship to the extent of damage to the HDB [20].

Associations of INTS6 with chemical compounds

  • The use of curve-based coefficients Cosine Coefficient and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation yielded higher RCAs than the use of band-based coefficients Jaccard, Dice, Jeffrey's x, and Ochiai [21].
  • The composition of the running buffer results on a 25% 2-propanol, 0.001% HDB and 50 mM sodium phosphate [22].
  • Three types of modifiers, two alkylammonium salts (cethyltrimethylammonium bromide and tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide) and a polycation (HDB) were investigated [22].
  • Severe Granulomatous Lesions in Several Organs from Eustrongylides Larvae in a Free-ranging Dice Snake, Natrix tessellata [23].
  • An increase in noradrenaline (NA) (41%, p < 0.05) occurred during HDA different from what was the case during HDB [24].

Other interactions of INTS6

  • Nevertheless, co-amplification of DDX26 with EGFR was not detected in nine tumors analyzed [25].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of INTS6

  • Analysis of the REA patterns generated by PFGE after digestion with NotI and SfiI suggested the clonal nature and close genetic identity of the isolates obtained during each of the two outbreaks (Dice coefficient, 0.93 to 1.0) [26].
  • In the following study, the density distribution (median density D50; determined by Percoll density gradients) and GOT activities of RBCs were measured in patients on acetate (HDA; n = 15) and bicarbonate (HDB; n = 51) hemodialysis [27].
  • The relatedness of ribotypes was evaluated by using the Dice coefficient [28].
  • The relatedness of 33 archived S. aureus isolates was evaluated using pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) of Sma I-digested genomic DNA; a common pulsed field type was defined as > or = 80 % similarity based on Dice coefficients [29].
  • The GOT activities in RBCs demonstrated a rejuvenation of the RBC population in the HDB group (6.4 +/- 2.5 U/g Hb) and HDA group (5.9 +/- 3.1 U/g Hb) compared to group C (3.9 +/- 1.3 U/g Hb).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)[27]
