  • Omphalocele is a disease of neonatal age and its present management is successful in almost all specialized centers of Pediatric Surgery. A case of an 8-year-old girl who was managed with conservative treatment during her neonatal period with mercurochrome (Grob method) is presented [15].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of [2,7-dibromo-9-(2-carboxyphenyl)-3-hydroxy-6-oxo-xanthen-4-yl]mercury

  • To localize compounds containing sulphydryl groups, fresh or fixed frozen sections of the plants were treated with mercurochrome [16].
  • Mercurochrome was applied to tissues and tissue sections in an attempt to examine structural components either in visible light, fluorescence or electron microscopy [17].
  • We report that the electrical diode characteristics of the TiO(2)/Au Schottky barrier deteriorate by deposition of a hydrophobic quantum dot film, Merbromin dye adsorption, or electron-hole photogeneration in TiO(2) under inert conditions [18].
  • Childhood vaccinations, merbromin used as an antiseptic, broken thermometers, and the use of drops were the main sources of exposure [19].
  • After treatment with mercurochrome in acetone before embedding, the eosinophilic granules from leucocytes and chromatin masses showed electron opacity as well as a yellowish green fluorescence under excitation with violet-blue or blue light [17].
