• The commonest exceptions were endocervical mesonephroid adenocarcinomas (which were CEA-negative) and endometrial adenosquamous carcinomas (which were CEA-positive) [1].
• K-ras mutations were detected in 27 of 93 adenocarcinomas (29.0%), one of 61 squamous cell carcinomas (1.6%), five of 39 large-cell carcinomas (12.8%), and two of 20 adenosquamous carcinomas (10%) (P = .001) [2].

• To evaluate the prognostic value of ras gene alterations in lung cancer in a U.S. population, we have screened 173 human lung tumors, which included 127 adenocarcinomas, 37 squamous carcinomas, and 9 adenosquamous carcinomas, for mutations in the K-ras gene using the combination of the PCR and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis [16].

• Despite the low number of patients in this series we may conclude that concomitant chemobrachyradiotherapy with ifosfamide and cisplatin followed by consolidation chemotherapy with the same drug combination is an efficacious treatment of patients with locally advanced adeno- or adenosquamous carcinomas of the cervix uteri [31].
