Disease relevance of LYN

High impact information on LYN

  • Membrane-associated CD19-LYN complex is an endogenous p53-independent and Bc1-2-independent regulator of apoptosis in human B-lineage lymphoma cells [5].
  • Specimens taken from patients with advanced CML that progressed on STI571 therapy also were analyzed for LYN kinase expression, and they were found to be elevated to a level similar to that of K562-R cells [2].
  • The src-related kinase LYN was highly overexpressed and activated in K562-R cells, and its inhibition reduced proliferation and survival of K562-R cells while having limited effects of K562 cells [2].
  • Furthermore, the magnitude of these inducible increases in LYN kinase activity was dependent on the concentration of IL-3, and correlated with IL-3--induced proliferation [6].
  • Interleukin-3 regulates the activity of the LYN protein-tyrosine kinase in myeloid-committed leukemic cell lines [6].

Chemical compound and disease context of LYN

Biological context of LYN

Anatomical context of LYN

  • We evaluated subcellular fractions of PMNs and found that the phosphorylated form of LYN was mainly in the Triton-extractable, cytosolic fraction in adult PMNs, while in newborn cells it was located mainly in Triton-insoluble, granule- and membrane-associated fractions [12].
  • The cDNAs encoding two forms of the LYN protein tyrosine kinase are expressed in rat mast cells and human myeloid cells [13].

Associations of LYN with chemical compounds

  • Thus, CPI-2-induced apoptosis is not dependent on the protein tyrosine kinases LYN or BTK [14].
  • LYN did not alter the IVGTT or plasma insulin but decreased the proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in serum lecithin (p less than 0.01) and cholesterol esters (p less than 0.01) where oleic acid was reciprocally increased (p less than 0.05) [7].
  • 8 of these women were also followed in an identical manner during 6 months of nonhormonal contraception (intrauterine device = IUD) and additionally 6 of these women were followed also during the use of a combined oral contraceptive (OC) (ethinyl estradiol + lynestrenol - EE + LYN) [7].
  • The combined CO, EE + LYN, on the other hand, promptly diminishes glucose tolerance and may also have an unfavorable influence on liver metabolism [7].
  • EE + LYN also increased (p less than 0.05) lecithin palmitate and decreased stearate (p less than 0.05) and had a concomitant tendency to lower PUFA and increase oleic acid in both lecithin and cholesterol esters [7].

Co-localisations of LYN

  • Particulate pde46 co-localized with LYN kinase in COS7 cells [8].

Other interactions of LYN

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of LYN

  • Eight of these women also were followed in an identical manner during non-hormonal contraception (IUD) and 6 of them during combined oral contraceptive administration (EE + LYN) [4].
