Disease relevance of NUMBL

• N-Myc gene amplification is a major prognostic factor in localized neuroblastoma: results of the French NBL 90 study. Neuroblastoma Study Group of the Société Francaise d'Oncologie Pédiatrique [1].
• In vitro studies showed that IgG from pooled normal donors (IV-IgG) inhibits the reaction between serum from a CIDP patient and the NBL cell line [2].

• EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Northern blotting and in situ hybridization were used to study ras protooncogene mRNA expression in the DLPs of NBL rats harboring sex steroid-induced ductal dysplasia and to compare findings with those from prostates of castrated and castrated androgen-treated animals [13].
• The biparietal diameter: nasal bone length ratio (BPD/NBL) was also calculated [14].

Associations of NUMBL with chemical compounds

• In this study we investigated the chronic toxic and carcinogenic effects of cadmium in the Noble (NBL/Cr) rat, with particular attention to lesions of the prostate [17].
• METHODS: A recent case of NBL 4S seen at the Sophia Children's Hospital led the authors to review their patient charts from 1971 onward, as well as the literature, for the treatment modalities used and the outcome in treated versus nontreated patients [18].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of NUMBL
