Chemical compound and disease context of Ampulla of Vater

Biological context of Ampulla of Vater

  • For the purpose of determining the prognostic significance of HER2/neu oncogene in pancreatic and ampullary cancers, 21 pancreatic cancers of ductal origin and six cancers of the ampulla of Vater were studied immunohistochemically using the monoclonal antibody (MAb) CB11, specifically reactive with HER2/neu product [14].
  • Mutational analysis of exon3 in CTNNB-1, which encodes the serine/threonine residues for GSK-3beta phosphorylation sites, was performed on 21 cases of carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater, by means of polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) followed by nucleotide sequencing [15].

Associations of Ampulla of Vater with chemical compounds

Gene context of Ampulla of Vater

  • TFF3 was expressed in the ampulla of Vater. mRNA expression of TFF1 was detected in only approximately 25% of the investigated samples [24].
  • Proliferating cell nuclear antigen, p53, and c-erbB-2 expression in relation to clinicopathological variables and prognosis in cancer of the ampulla of Vater [25].
  • In contrast, the proportion of down-regulated p16 expression was the least among the patients in the region of the ampulla of Vater with better prognosis, and we showed that the prognosis of patients with down-regulated expression of p16 was the poorest in terms of the cancer location where it is limited to the region of ampulla of Vater [26].
  • Fourty-six patients with ampulla of Vater cancer were enrolled and their COX-2 expression and clinicopathologic features were analyzed [27].
  • A higher percentage of cases with overexpression of c-erbB-3 in pancreatic head carcinoma and overexpression of c-erbB-2 in carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater was found in Ki-67 antigen-positive cases [28].
