Disease relevance of NAPROXEN

  • Successful migraine prophylaxis with naproxen sodium [1].
  • Seventy patients with classical or common migraine were treated during their attacks with either naproxen sodium or placebo in a randomised, double-blind parallel group study [2].
  • Also the premonitory symptoms and photophobia improved significantly on naproxen sodium and significantly less rescue analgesics were required [2].
  • When the test medications were taken within 2 h of onset of attack, naproxen sodium was statistically significantly more effective than the ergotamine combination in reducing the severity of headache pain, nausea, and lightheadedness [3].
  • Thirty-seven patients with chronic back pain were entered into a randomised, 3-way, double-blind, cross-over comparison of naproxen sodium 550 mg twice daily, diflunisal 500 mg twice daily, and placebo [4].
