Disease relevance of Information Systems

Psychiatry related information on Information Systems

  • Data on clients treated in publicly funded substance abuse outpatient treatment programs were drawn from the Massachusetts Substance Abuse Information System. A larger proportion of group to individual therapy was strongly and positively associated with increased likelihood for improved measures of treatment performance [6].
  • This work presents the new additional approach to the decision-making process by so called Prerequisite Matrix as well as application of it to a BSP study of the Ideational Project Health Information System of the Public Health Institute of Split [7].

High impact information on Information Systems

  • ISIS, the intron information system, reveals the high frequency of alternative splicing in the human genome [8].
  • METHODS: All data were supplied by the U.S. Renal Data System. Data on all payments made by Medicare from 1991 through 1997 for the care of recipients of a first cadaveric renal transplant were analyzed according to the number of HLA-A, B, and DR mismatches between donor and recipient and the duration of cold ischemia before transplantation [9].
  • Clinical data systems, Part 2: Components and techniques [10].
  • Some are available from vendors of online information systems, whereas others are available only on CD-ROM or floppy disk [11].
  • There is wide variation among oncologists in CSF use, and several substantial differences were noted between the prescribing behavior of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) survey-reported oncologists and actual clinical practice, as captured by the computerized clinical information system [12].

Associations of Information Systems with chemical compounds

  • METHODS: The authors searched MEDLINE (1966 to January 2001; U.S. National Library of Medicine, Bethesda, MD), HealthSTAR, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) database (Cinahl Information Systems, Glendale, CA) for English-language articles [24].
  • Patients with one or more plasma glucose values > 200 mg/dl were identified by the laboratory data system on a daily basis [25].
  • METHODS: We reviewed time trends in data of the United States Renal Data system, the Diabetes Surveillance Program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and diabetes literature [26].
  • Data were obtained from the U.S. Renal Data System. GFR was predicted by an equation developed from the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease Study. RESULTS: The mean (SD) serum creatinine was 8.5 (3.8) mg/dl [27].
  • DESIGN: Inter-unit comparison of 10 indicators of obstetric intervention and adverse outcome derived from routinely collected computerised data held on the St Mary's Maternity Information System. SETTING: Fifteen maternity units in the former North West Thames Region [28].
