Disease relevance of Thermography

High impact information on Thermography

  • Discussed in this article are six of these cases, two involving Laetrile (amygdalin), two involving immunoaugmentative therapy, and two involving thermography, technologies that had previously been assessed as not safe, not effective, or inadequately evaluated [6].
  • Infrared video thermography was used to observe ice nucleation temperatures, patterns of ice formation, and freezing rates in nonacclimated and cold acclimated leaves of a spring (cv Quest) and a winter (cv Express) canola (Brassica napus) [7].
  • Liquid crystal thermography: quantitative studies of abnormalities in carpal tunnel syndrome [8].
  • Late-phase reactions to histamine were less intense and could only be detected with thermography; only thermographic units showed a decrease (26%) in response to azelastine [9].
  • Intracoronary temperature was measured with a thermography catheter developed in our Institution: a thermistor probe with a temperature accuracy of 0.05 degrees C, was attached at the distal end of a long 3F polyurethane shaft [10].

Anatomical context of Thermography

Associations of Thermography with chemical compounds

  • Prostaglandin E1 vasospastic disease and thermography [22].
  • Temperature of the fingers and hands recorded by thermography did not change significantly with saline infusions, but did rise during PGE1 infusions (mean rise 2.0 degrees C at 48 hours, p less than 0.001), and was maintained when measured again 2 weeks later (mean rise 1.56 degrees C, p less 0.001) [23].
  • Due to considerable spontaneous variability and change in temperature already after instillation of diluent, thermography was not sensitive enough to identify positive CPT results [24].
  • The axon reflex induced by intracutaneous application of capsaicin to the forearm of human subjects and the back of anesthetized rats pretreated with intravenous injection of Evans blue was investigated using sequential subtraction thermography [18].
  • Application of the first patch was followed immediately by repeat eight-hour thermography, with hourly measurements of E2 and luteinizing hormone (LH) [25].

Gene context of Thermography

  • Our results indicate the analgesic property of SST14 and demonstrate its capacity to reduce progressively joint inflammation confirmed by thermography and by reduction of pain, after a month of therapy [26].
  • This indicates that not all patients had sufficient antiinflammatory medication with the final 6 mg/d of methylprednisolone as measured by dynamic thermography but not by ESR or CRP [21].
  • These findings indicate that the sensitivity of LCT in CTS is low compared with NCS, and previous favorable reports concerning thermography in CTS may have been due to lack of control series or absence of quantitation [8].
  • Thermographic analysis, performed using the AGA 782 Digital Thermography system, showed increasing temperature with increasing radiant exposure, with a maximum temperature of 47.2 degrees C at 55 mJ/mm2 [27].
  • Arteriovenous communications in varicose veins localized by thermography and identified by operative microscopy [28].
