Disease relevance of CKLF

  • We tested the best performing polymer, C32, in mice for toxicity and DNA delivery after intratumor and i.m. injection [1].
  • Finally, we used C32 to deliver a DNA construct encoding the A chain of diphtheria toxin (DT-A) to xenografts derived from LNCaP human prostate cancer cells [1].
  • In contrast, C32 melanoma cells also adhere specifically to sulfatide, but adhesion of these cells is not enhanced by laminin or inhibited by antibodies to laminin that block laminin-dependent adhesion of G361 cells [2].

  • C32 delivered DNA intratumorally approximately 4-fold better than one of the best commercially available reagents, jetPEI (polyethyleneimine), and 26-fold better than naked DNA [1].
  • The new family of very long chain fatty acid methyl esters are alpha,omega-13,16-dimethylheptacosanedioate dimethyl ester (C29), alpha,omega-13,16-dimethyloctacosanedioate dimethyl ester (C30), alpha,omega-13,16-dimethylnonacosanedioate dimethyl ester (C31), and alpha,omega-13,16-dimethyltriacotanedioate dimethyl ester (C32) [17].
