Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of PHENYLEPHRINE HYDROCHLORIDE

  • After beta-adrenergic blockade, phenylephrine injection elicited a fall in mean HR and rise in HR variance in WT mice that was partially attenuated after treatment with PTX [38].
  • In situ hybridization showed that expression of c-fos mRNA induced by phenylephrine was localized to aorta's medial layer [39].
  • The selective alpha 1-adrenergic agonist phenylephrine (PE) (1.5 mumol/L) was infused from 30 to 36 minutes and again from 70 to 76 minutes after starting perfusion (n = 5) [40].
  • Compared with age-matched controls, they had inappropriate blood pressure responses to phenylephrine, the Valsalva maneuver, and upright posture, lack of sweating on warming, and pupillary denervation hypersensitivity [41].
  • In dogs receiving PE plus LAD occlusion and in dogs with aortic constriction and LAD occlusion, NET was transiently depressed in groups 1 and 2 compared with the normotensive cohort; 24 hours after occlusion, NET in groups 1, 2 and 3 did not differ significantly from that in the normotensive dogs [42].
