Gene context of Metered Dose Inhalers

  • METHODS: Patients with COPD were enrolled in two 6-month randomised, placebo controlled, double blind, double dummy studies of tiotropium 18 micro g once daily via HandiHaler or salmeterol 50 micro g twice daily via a metered dose inhaler [29].
  • BACKGROUND: The Medtrac MDI Chronolog is an electronic device for monitoring adherence to metered-dose inhalers [30].
  • OBJECTIVE: We sought to evaluate step-down therapy with a fluticasone propionate-salmeterol (FP-SM) combination administered through a dry powder inhaler (DPI; Advair Diskus) versus a medium dose of hydrofluoroalkane 143a-beclomethasone dipropionate (HFA-BDP) administered through a breath-actuated pressurized metered-dose inhaler (QVAR Autohaler) [31].
  • After the LAR occurred, a placebo and fenoterol were administered blindly by a metered-dose inhaler, with an interval of 15 minutes and in alternating, random sequence [32].
  • IB/FEN has been available for the treatment of asthma and COPD in a pressurised metered dose inhaler (MDI) [pMDI] formulation for many years [33].
