  • The expression of cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 mRNAs and proteins and PGE synthase (PGES) mRNA was analyzed by Northern and Western blot [6].
  • In experiment 1, staining for COX-2 was maximal between d18P and d24P, both in the LE and in the conceptus, whereas staining for GM-CSF reached a plateau between d18P and d30P in the LE [10].
  • In experiment 2, in response to IFN-tau, COX-2 was up-regulated in the LE of the ipsilateral horn, whereas GM-CSF was enhanced in both uterine horns [10].
  • Consistent with the increased expression of COX-2, BBMEC monolayers exposed to TNF-alpha had significantly greater secretion and release of prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)) and prostaglandin F(2alpha) (PGF(2alpha)) [9].
  • Accumulation of cyclooxygenase-2 gene transcripts in uterine tissues of pregnant and parturient cows: stimulation by oxytocin [8].
