Gene context of Rats, Inbred Strains

  • We identified polymorphisms in H19 and Igf2 transcripts in two inbred rat strains and determined the expression of the parental alleles in F1 offspring [32].
  • The two inbred rat strains did not differ in hepatic microsomal phenacetin deethylase activity, which is a marker for CYP1A2 activity important for the activation of aromatic amines [33].
  • An intronless Fabp6 segment was found in four related rat inbred strains (SHR; SHRSP; WKY; and OKA), but not in 62 other rat inbred strains [34].
  • The goals of the present study were (i) to define the neuronal pattern of immunoreactive Fos expression to the airpuff stimulus, and (ii) to determine whether this pattern of expression differed between the two contrasting inbred rat strains, thereby relating to observed differences in response [35].
  • Hsc70-specific probes detect a large number of more than 20 cross-hybridizing fragments, which show only limited length polymorphism among various inbred rat strains [36].
