Chemical compound and disease context of Chromatography, Gel

Biological context of Chromatography, Gel

  • The binding site for t-PA and plasminogen is on the E domain because characterization of the potentiating fragments using gel filtration followed by PAGE and immunoblotting indicates that the major species is (DD)E complex, whereas minor components include high-molecular weight derivatives containing the (DD)E complex and fragment E [16].
  • Thrombin treatment of intact 32PO4-loaded platelets results in a 2-6-fold increase in phosphorylation of a platelet protein (designated "peak 7" protein) of approximately 40,000 mol wt as determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and by gel filtration on Sephadex G-150 [17].
  • Fractionation of MNC culture supernates by gel permeation chromatography and characterization of active fractions demonstrated six distinct PMN chemoattractants in cultures from CF genotypes; five were also present in patient control and four in normal healthy control cultures [18].
  • In this study we have purified a 5.5-kDa aortic medial amyloid component, by size-exclusion chromatography and RP-HPLC, from three individuals, and we have shown by amino acid sequence analysis that the amyloid is derived from an integral proteolytic fragment of lactadherin [19].
  • Plasmids carrying a single copy of the sequence bound 3-fold-more partially purified estrogen receptor (ER) than did control plasmids when assayed by gel filtration [20].

Anatomical context of Chromatography, Gel

  • Using a procedure involving DEAE-cellulose, hydroxyapatite and gel filtration column chromatography, we obtained a fraction from human platelets which apparently can compete with 3H--cytochalasin B for binding to spectrin-actin complexes from human erythrocytes [21].
  • The lipid-linked and asparagine-linked oligosaccharides of two lectin-resistant and one parental Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line have been compared by glycosidase digestion and gel filtration analysis of radiolabeled glycopeptides and oligosaccharides [22].
  • Thymocyte-activating factor derived from MDP-stimulated fibroblasts was found in the fraction of mol wt 30,000-60,000 by gel filtration on a Sephacryl S-200 column [23].
  • Gel filtration of purified human milk LPL mixed with plasma or isolated LDL produced a peak of activity eluting before LDL [24].
  • To investigate the association of the putative platelet fibrinogen receptor (glycoprotein IIb-III(a) with the cytoskeleton, 125I-surface labeled human platelets washed by gel-filtration were activated under conditions which allow selective assembly of the platelet cytoskeleton [25].
