Gene context of Keratoplasty, Penetrating

  • Group I consisted of the 147 penetrating keratoplasties with up to 13 triplet-string mismatches (the typical upper limit of foreign in case of a single HLA-A or HLA-B allele mismatch) and was compared to the remaining 398 patients with more triplet mismatches (group II) using the Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank statistics [7].
  • PARTICIPANTS: Chart review of 73 patients (110 eyes) with recently confirmed BIGH3 mutations who underwent a penetrating keratoplasty (PK) from 1978 through 1999 [28].
  • OBJECTIVE: To test CD-34 immunoreactivity in stromal cornea cells in normal and pathologic samples obtained from penetrating keratoplasty [29].
  • METHODS: Penetrating keratoplasty specimens removed from 5 patients with HSK were divided to provide adjacent sections that were incubated with control medium or the same medium containing IL-10 (100 U/ml) for 48 hours [30].
  • OBJECTIVE: To review our experience using tPA to revive previously functional but newly failing blebs following secondary surgical procedures (cataract extraction or penetrating keratoplasty) [31].
