Disease relevance of TRIT1

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of IPT as an imaging agent for measuring changes in transporter concentrations in Parkinson's disease [1].
  • In Malawi, where the efficacy of SP for the treatment of malaria in children is decreasing, we conducted a randomized, nonblinded study to compare the efficacy of monthly SP IPTp with a 2-dose regimen for the prevention of placental parasitemia in HIV-positive and -negative primigravid and secundigravid women. Results [2].
  • In areas with intense transmission of falciparum malaria and a high prevalence of HIV infection, monthly SP IPTp should be adopted [2].
  • Dopaminergic deficit in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis assessed with [I-123] IPT single photon emission computed tomography [3].
  • In response to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and the Ca2+ ionophore A23187, the total phosphatidylinositides (IPT) increased in A431 human epidermoid carcinoma cells 1.8- and 2.0-fold and in the EGF-dependent A431/Clone 15-2 cells 3.0- and 8.0-fold, respectively, over basal levels [4].

Psychiatry related information on TRIT1

High impact information on TRIT1

  • tRNA-isopentenyltransferase (tRNA-IPT) catalyses the addition of N6-isopentenyladenosine (i6A) on residue 37 of tRNA molecules that bind codons starting with uridine [9].
  • The number of person-years of IPT required to prevent one case of recurrent TB among individuals with a CD4 cell count < 200 x 106 cells/l, and > or = 200 x 106 cells/l was 5 and 19, respectively [10].
  • METHODS: The incidence of recurrent TB was compared between two cohorts of HIV-infected miners: one cohort (n = 338) had received secondary preventive therapy with isoniazid (IPT) and the other had not (n = 221) [10].
  • To enhance our understanding of KNOX protein function in plant development, we identified rice (Oryza sativa) genes for adenosine phosphate isopentenyltransferase (IPT), which catalyzes the rate-limiting step of CK biosynthesis [11].
  • Molecular and biochemical studies revealed that there are eight IPT genes, OsIPT1 to OsIPT8, in the rice genome, including a pseudogene, OsIPT6 [11].

Chemical compound and disease context of TRIT1

Biological context of TRIT1

  • Accumulation of ABA, another hormone regulating flower senescence, was significantly greater in WT corollas, confirming that floral senescence was delayed in IPT plants [13].
  • Flowers from IPT plants were less sensitive to exogenous ethylene and required longer treatment times to induce endogenous ethylene production, corolla senescence, and up-regulation of the senescence-related Cys protease phcp1 [13].
  • Controlling the cell cycle directly, using RBR and VIP1, or indirectly, through hormone regulation using IPT and ESR1, has improved rates of stable transformation [14].
  • The World Health Organization recommends that pregnant women in malaria-endemic areas receive >or= 2 doses of intermittent preventive treatment with sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (IPTp/SP) in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy to prevent maternal anemia, placental parasitemia, and low birth weight (LBW) [15].
  • Effects of cor15a-IPT gene expression on leaf senescence in transgenic Petunia x hybrida and Dendranthema x grandiflorum [16].

Anatomical context of TRIT1

  • RESULTS: The specific uptake of IPT was higher in the caudate than in the putamen of each subject [17].
  • We report an additional case of an IPT-like FDC tumor of the ileum and mesentery in a 52-year-old schizophrenic man [18].
  • The presentation, diagnosis, histologic features, and therapy of IPT of the pancreas are reviewed [19].
  • The application of this technique during subtotal parathyroidectomy has proved useful for correct excision of parathyroid glands among waiting list patients with IPT II, while in kidney transplant patients with IPT III it allowed removal of only the pathological glands with a limited surgical approach [20].

Associations of TRIT1 with chemical compounds

  • The first step of de novo synthesis of CKs is catalyzed by adenosine phosphate-isopentenyltransferase (IPT), which produces isopentenyladenine nucleotide [21].
  • Expression from the cytokinin-synthesizing isopentenyl transferase (IPT) enzyme under the control of the Arabidopsis senescence-inducible promoter SAG (senescence associated gene)12 was observed during early maize floret development [22].
  • N-(3-Iodopropen-2-yl)-2 beta-carbomethoxy-3 beta-(4-chlorophenyl)tropane (IPT) is an analog of cocaine that selectively binds the presynaptic dopamine transporter [23].
  • Iodine-123 labelled N-(3-iodopropen-2-yl)-2beta-carbomethoxy-3beta-(chlorophenyl)tropane ([123I]IPT) SPET data of 10 controls and 30 parkinsonian patients with varying degrees of reduced IPT binding were analysed twice by an expert (intraobserver) and once by a less experienced physician in training (interobserver) [24].
  • To investigate this concern, 1,035 Gambian primigravidae were randomized to receive either folic acid (500-1,500 microg/day) together with oral iron (522) or oral iron alone (513) for 14 days at the same time as they received IPTp with SP [25].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of TRIT1

  • The present study sought to measure the radiation dosimetry of IPT in seven healthy human volunteers [23].
  • In bioreactor tests, mutant IPT 189 showed Y(3HV/Prop) = 1.20 g g(-1), a yield very close to the theoretical maximum of 1.35 g g(-1) [26].
  • RESULTS: Statistically significant relationships were detected between: (i) p53 IHC expression and infiltration of periprostatic tissue (IPT; p = 0.011); (ii) tumor volume (TV; p = 0.027); and (iii) bcl2 IHCE and absence of prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) (p = 0.004) [27].
  • With additional doses of IPT the ECG in these rats showed a well marked Q wave and increase in the amplitudes of R and T waves in limb and increase in the amplitudes of R and T waves in limb and chest leads [28].
  • Individuals were randomized either to a standard course of periodontal therapy (subgingival scaling and root planing) or an intensive one (including the adjunctive use of a locally delivered antimicrobial, IPT) [29].
