Gene context of Nerve Fibers, Myelinated

  • Compared with young women (YW), we hypothesized that aged women (AW) would demonstrate 1) lower muscle capillarization in a fiber type-specific manner and 2) lower VEGF and VEGF receptor expression at rest and in response to acute exercise [31].
  • Additionally, the normally dense band of parvalbumin immunoreactivity in the stratum lacunosum-moleculare, thought to be indicative of a fiber bundle travelling through the CA1 region, was almost completely depleted [32].
  • Calnexin gene-deficient mice were smaller than their littermates and showed very obvious motor disorders, associated with a dramatic loss of large myelinated nerve fibers [33].
  • Colocalization studies demonstrated that VR1 expression was increased in large myelinated A-fiber DRG neurons, whereas it was decreased in small unmyelinated C-fiber neurons as a result of diabetes [34].
  • PURPOSE: CP49 is a fiber cell-specific type I cytokeratin, but its function as part of the fiber cell-beaded filament remains unknown [35].
